Felt a bit like it was missing a twist or turn; it unfolded mostly in a straight line as it went along. The theme of humans behaving like animals, and that being not quite good for us, is well argued. The final sequence is a massive swing that had me entirely spellbound. Good show.
Leigh, Keery, Morris, Moorjani and Rhysdal are also excellent.
Temple is very good at playing that story of the human who becomes a “trapped animal”.
Hamm, strangely enough, felt like a weak point to me throughout. I think he’s maybe just slightly too famous to make sense in this context. I never quite got past, oh that’s Don Draper doing a funny accent. He didn’t really sell the character’s psychology at all. It didn’t add up for me. I felt like he seemed uncomfortable with the part, and like he wanted me to know that even though he’s acting like a bad guy, actually don’t worry, in real life Jon Hamm loves women.
